well, today is valentine's day.

so one might wonder, what does 01-06 do on valentine's day? of course, the answer is... PIONEERING ACT!

well, we reported at 8am at the gym hall, along with the SU. while the SU was being briefed on sec 1 orientation, the VU was dismissed, then we went to carry poles to braddell west lake. this time, the poles weren't as bad as pioneering act 1, since those poles were like, double the length...

we choose poles.

emo elmos!

imbalanced as usual. ;D

carrying poles through ri(jc).

see above.

to get into braddell west, we had to employ some uber-cunning espionage skills, ie climb over/crawl under the gate and throw stuff above/push stuff below said gate.

yay poles!

whose socks could those be?

omg it's francis yee! (rhymes with the first line lol!)

the group i/cs discuss i/c stuff. like "I SEE you have a cool piece of paper. can lend me?"

tired from carrying poles lol. and pioneering hasn't even started yet.

so, for the first part of pioneering act, the VU split into three different groups - one group to tie the bridges, one to tie the trestles, and one to...do something else (paiseh can't remember!).

my group was the bridge group, so we just sat around spamming square lashes to make the bridges. of course, our wonderful vtls popped by once in a while to help out with the square lashery.

zhi xuan ties a square lash. :O

tak wei ties a square lash while alvin looks at something in the distance.

francis is climbing a ladder! omg! oh, wait...

2v2 square lashing!

the trestle doods.

sup is the king of the bridge. lol.

the bridges!

hiok's human flag so imba. -.-

one of the station games for the SU, where they had to carry cheeyeow for one lap in braddell west lake.

another game type thing, although only the first patrol played it. they had to keep cheeyeow from breaking away, which of course, they didn't.

our super imba combo of two trestles and one back thing. they're not tied together. at all.

from the back.

owl got the special pleasure of carrying their ex-pl. (:

trying to set up the camera on timer so that a batch photo under the combo structure could be taken. in the end mr yuen helped us to take a picture. (:

hiok: "oh yeah i'm so awesome."

our dear vtl giving bryan a piggyback ride.

joel: "come on guys! wwjd?"

sup carries the mighty symbol of 01-06: a bunch of leaves.

so, pioneering act was quite successful, as we managed to pioneer a safe and commendable structure. yay!

after act, we split up into two groups - one to cut wood, and one to go collect our batch pets and buy hamster equipment. i was in the latter group, along with sup, zhong jun, and soham.

since the person donating the hamsters to us lived in boon lay, we took a pretty long time to get there. when we didn't know where to go, sup called the owner of the hamsters, then said that the voice sounded like a maid, because, and i quote, "i heard tagalog". well, it turns out the owner was a chinese lady. so sup damn jack. haha.

after collecting the hamsters, we took the mrt back to bishan, then took a bus to thompson plaza. we got off at the wrong stop, then sup went back on the bus while me and zhongjun were like, "wtbomb?" then we walked to the next bus stop. lololol. we bought the shavings, sandbath, and food for the hamsters, then took the bus back to ri, where we set up the hamster cage properly with all the stuff in it. and everyone was like "OMG they're so cuuuute!"

they currently don't have names, and we're pretty sure they're both female. possible names are "boon" and "lay", since they were from boon lay. haha.

and that's how the cookie crumbled for 01-06 this valentine's day.
