An insight part 3- road trip!!

50km+

Francis- 50km+
Kenneth- 53km+
Joel- 67km+

Joel cycled 14km more cos his house is 14km away from Kenneth's.

We started at 10am. Ok actually, i started at 10am cos Kenneth and Joel met me at my house. And then we cycled for about maybe 6 hours. I think reached back at 4pm. Or 3+ anyway. We cycled along Tampines road. Ya the damn screw up long road that we all curse at during GTC. But this time it was a breeze. No kick sia.

We managed to reach Tampines Park Connector and from there we just followed the connector. All the way to Changi. So far so good, no one injured, no near-death incidents.

We saw quite a lot of cyclists. All look so pro with helmets and stuff. We were 3 dudes, with small backpacks, water bottles, Kenneth and I had gloves, we were wearing shorts, Joel and i were wearing RI PE shorts, we had mostly everything to look pro. Including our bikes of course. The one key difference between us and them pro cyclists is: no.1 speed. no.2 helmets.

A bit dangerous right? Cycling on the road with no helmets. But happy to report that none of us lost a head of any other limb.

How do you describe a cycling trip? Very windy, enjoyable, fun. We stopped at Changi Village to eat lunch. Quite an early lunch. We locked our bikes and chose a seat where we could see our bikes. So that we could make sure no one would steal our seats, wheel, or any other detachable part. There were a bunch of old dudes sitting at the table next to us and their bikes were nearby. And when they got up to go off, one old dude pointed at Kenneth's bike and then they all went to look at it. Lol. Like never see road bike before. Joel's and my bike got ignored cos ours were mountain bikes. Haha.

Lunch and then off again. Trying to out run the dark ominous clouds. Which we didn't manage. So we camped out at a pavillion. But after a while we continued cos the rain was sort of lighter and a bunch of dudes cycled past anyway. And we got royally wet. Not drenched. Just wet. Stopped at another shelter quite soon. Where we waited for the rain to stop. And then we set out again.

This time we were cycling along the park connector next to the Changi Airport runway. And we saw an A380 take off. Quite cool sia. Try racing it. Haha.

But the rain sort of started again and we got wet again. And the wind was damn strong and it was damn cold. Wind chill factor. But it was damn fun. Cos we could go damn fast there since the road was mega straight.

And then to East Coast park. Boring there lah. Same old same old. But damn empty. Very different from the usual saturday and sunday there.

We then took an underpass to Siglap link. And from there we saw Victoria school. Kenneth was angsting cos he had to go there later for CCA briefing anyway. Haha. Then into Siglap Linear park and to Amos' house.

Amos got sore throat. Damn funny voice. He helped us refill our bottles. Then talk cock a bit, lala. Then Amos went back to watching the construction going on opposite his house and we went on to Anurak's house. Actually Yi Ming's house first cos it is nearer the entrance of the road. Anurak's is just after Yi Ming's house. On the way out we admired all the rich houses in Amos' estate. The 4 storey giant house. All the rich rich one. Haha

So we went there. Hardly much of a distance. Honestly walkable. Like maybe from RJC to J8. Anurak was at DI, so we didn't bother bothering him. Joel tried calling Yi Ming but no response. So assume he was out lor. Sat there a while looking at the houses and see the difference between them. Then off to Hiok Yang's house. Again!

Hiok Yang's house. Nothing to say lah. We all see before. Hiok Yang wasn't at home so off back home now.

Jln Eunos to Eunos Link to Hougang Ave 3. Finally!! We cycled on the road most of the way. Buses and lorries and cars and taxis all rushing pass us.

Finally we reached Kovan MRT and then we split up. I went home, Kenneth and Joel continued on. Kenneth heading for home and Joel heading for Kenneth's house and then home.

Pictures!! For proof. So you won't say we scam.

The second shelter we stopped at. Quite a cosy place. Left bike is mine, center is Joel's, bike seat on the right is Kenneth's

Tada! Amos!

Lunch at Changi Village.

The first shelter we stopped at. Watching the great blue sea.

Our bikes at Changi Village.

Thus conclude insight part 3. Where we had an insight to the outside of 4 houses. And went around one-third of Singapore.
